This is a fascinating project that was brought to us by the hotel’s owner, also reknowned interior designer and bespoke furniture afficionado, Zaira Apostolaki. This brand new boutique hotel at the heart of Chania’s Venetian harbor was a true labor of love and our assingment was to deliver its on-line presence with the same zest and respect.
Aisha Hotel just recently opened its doors to the public. This is a historic mansion which carries a rich cultural value and stands as testament of Chania’s Old City. The goal was to rescue it, renovate it and give it a new lease in life by turning it into a one-of a kind luxury hotel. Given the fact that the renovation rested heavily on preserving the mansion’s original architectural references, leaving them exposed and stripped from frivolous modern decorations, we moved on the same lane with our design approach, keeping it simple, understated and clear of unnecessary ‘noise’. The color palette that was used for the interiors of the property is based on earthy, understated colors so following the brand’s identity we picked a few of them to give that same color flow and consistency. Serif fonts (arno-pro-display) were used for headers, projecting a sense of tradition and elegance, while sans-serif fonts (figgins-sans) in the body text would ensure modern readability. High-quality photography always plays a key role in guiding the user through the site. The design relied on large images to showcase the luxurious suites and historic architecture, balanced by subtle text overlays. This strategy helps prioritize the visual storytelling of the hotel experience.
