Most of our clients have showed noteworthy loyalty, for many years. One of our loyal clients, with whom we have established a lasting and ongoing collaboration, is the team of Pallas. Pallas is an all-day bar/restaurant at the Venetian harbor of Chania. Its unique aesthetics make it one of the top destinations in the city. The hunger for evolution, new ideas, expansion and renewal has led to turning the restaurant into a brand that extends beyond the restaurant itself, linking the name Pallas not only to the iconic neoclassical building and the food services, but rather to values such as quality, consistency, local meets global, exquisiteness, opulence and artisan.

We designed and edited three new catalogues; for the coffee house, the restaurant as well as the wine list. Our goal was to create something special that attributes the uniqueness and the feeling of luxury which make the experience at Pallas a memorable one. We paid great attention to the quality of the raw material, by choosing authentic buffalo leather of prime quality in three colours (green, brown, black) that blend in harmoniously with the space. Construction was assigned to specialised craftsmen. The typography used was a combination of two sans-serif fonts, a contemporary, even weight for the capital titles and a more classical one for the descriptions. It was enhanced by a discrete illustration of surreal themes resembling an ink wash technique, inspired by art such as the work of Colombian artist Fernando Botero as well as Chinese sculptor Xu Hongfei. These voluptuous women figures that demonstrate agility represent the joy of life and the appetite for living life to the fullest.

Conveying the philosophy or message into an image is a challenging task, however it is the most creative one of all. The Pallas brand is constantly evolving, upgrading and often pushing its clientele out of its comfort zone, by bringing new ideas and fluid concepts to a more solid crowd. However, the brand’s loyal base is well established and happily follows to the next level; and so are we to have played a part of this ongoing journey.
